Church Service Sunday 9:30 AM

The Risen One

Jesus Christ rose from the grave as the same Lord who died on the cross. He did not return to normal life and later die again. He rose in a glorified body that can never die. He is the image of the invisible God, the Creator of all things, the head of the church, and the firstborn from the dead. Through his death, he carried our guilt, faced God’s judgment, and made peace between God and sinners.

Eternal life is more than living forever. It is sharing in the life of the risen Christ. Through faith and the Holy Spirit, we are united with Christ in his death and resurrection. In him, we are forgiven, made God’s children, freed from sin’s rule, changed by the Spirit, kept by God, and promised the future resurrection of our bodies.

This new life changes the whole person. We begin to hear God’s Word, trust his promises, hate sin, and desire to please him. Old habits and sinful desires remain, but they now face a new desire to obey God. This inner struggle can be a sign that sin no longer rules without resistance. It should lead us to confession, repentance, and obedience.

Because Jesus lives, we have hope and joy. Suffering, failure, and death will not have the final word. We can serve, forgive, make peace, share the Gospel, care for others, build up the church, and do the good works God has prepared for us.

The proof of resurrection life is not perfection. It is a new Lord, a new struggle, a new hope, and a new direction. Its highest purpose is worship: living for the glory of the risen Christ.
